As a wedding filmmaker, you’d think my own wedding video would be my prized possession. It’s not, though. 

It’s gorgeous, don’t get me wrong. It captured the sweetness of the day I married my beautiful wife, who is my world and my beating heart. There’s footage of my wife and me in slow motion. Of me putting on my tux. Of her bouquet. 

And yet, I can’t help but notice what it doesn’t show.

It doesn’t capture the talks I had with my mom and grandma about my dad, who passed away before we got married — conversations so intimate that I want to remember them forever. It doesn’t capture my favorite memories of cutting up the dance floor with my best friends. It doesn’t capture the heart of who my wife and I are as people, and as a couple. 

I can’t tell you how much I wish I could go back and have a video of our day that captures what actually mattered — the parts I’ve been trying to replay in my head, but that are already starting to fade.

That’s why I do what I do. I chase stories because I’m passionate about the unscripted realness that happens at weddings. The raw emotions, the candid moments, the laughter through tears. True connection. Trust me — these are the moments you’re going to want to remember. And they’re the moments I’ll never miss.

How old is Justin? Made-his-first-shorts-on-an-LG-phone old. Posted-his-first-films-on-Vine old. Married-with-two-kids old. Started-JPM-Weddings-in-2018 old. AKA just the right amount of “old” to know what really matters when capturing your wedding day on camera: your story. His narrative, documentary-style filmmaking is changing the wedding videography game, and Justin likes it that way. Especially since his habit of “doing things differently” runs in the family.

His wife, Cassandra, is the visionary behind JPM’s viral TikTok account and he gives her much of the credit for the business’s success. Justin’s son, Kaiden, has already started his hand at editing and filmmaking, and his toddler, Amaya, keeps the whole company busy making sure everyone’s wrapped around her little finger. And his larger-than-life personality? Justin attributes much of it to his dad, who never met a stranger. This is Justin’s role now, whether he’s hyping up the wedding party on the dance floor, or getting the groom to open up on camera — he leads with a big heart, loads of enthusiasm, and his own vulnerability.

If you notice Connor on the wedding day — which is a big if because he has a way of blending in as he captures memories you’ll never want to forget — you’ll see him completely zoned in from the first second of filming to the last minute of footage. It’s that kind of dedication that we love about Connor, and why we hired him back in 2019. Studying mass media and business in college has helped him as a filmmaker, sure, but even Connor will admit that he’s learned more on the job with Justin than anything taught in a classroom.
